Save the Date! - April 4th & 5th

Join us at the upcoming Community Open Houses for the Joint Land Use Study

The City of Seal Beach will be hosting the second set of public meetings for the Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Seal Beach Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) on April 4th and 5th, 2018. You are invited to attend one of the two upcoming Community Open Houses to learn about the JLUS process and the compatibility issues that have been identified. Each open house will begin with a presentation to provide an update on the JLUS process followed by stations, which will be set up with maps, brochures, and a survey to get further input on the compatibility issues identified.  The materials presented will be the same for each open house, so choose a date and location that is most convenient for you!

This project is a collaborative effort between the City, the Naval Weapon Station and other regional stakeholders to work together to identify and address compatibility issues either impacting the military mission or the surrounding community.  Your participation at the open houses and your input is very important to the development of the set of recommendations that will address these issues.

Thank you to all who attended the first public meeting on January 11, 2018. The information provided at the meeting included an overview of what a JLUS is, why it is important for your community to develop a JLUS, and the project’s process, including a description of the compatibility factors that will be assessed.  Click here to view the 1st Public Meeting’s presentation.  Attendees had the opportunity to provide their input on what they believe the compatibility issues are through a survey.

It is not too late to provide your input via the survey, Click here to take the survey.
